Support Hospitals in Ukraine
We are committed to raise $100,000 to send five 40-foot containers to Ukrainian hospitals in Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia and other areas in need. Five containers will equate to more than $2 million worth of medical equipment and supplies that are specifically requested by hospitals in Ukraine.
To date, the war in eastern Ukraine has left thousands dead and tens of thousands wounded. Hospitals in Ukraine are under immense strain that will likely continue for a long time regardless of how quickly the war can be ended. Doctors and numerous volunteers have been doing a consistently heroic job, but are in dire need of more trauma-related equipment and surgical tools.
Our first container arrived in Dnipropetrovsk with $486,000 worth of medical equipment, trauma supplies and prosthetics requested by two hospitals. Delivery of the first container (out of five) proved that our model works well: we delivered supplies that were specifically requested by the hospitals, cleared Ukrainian customs in 6 hours without paying taxes or fees, and incurred $0 overhead costs on the shipment as our operation has no office or paid staff.
Since all the supplies and equipment were donated by the U.S. hospitals, the actual cost to collect them, pack and ship the containers is substantially lower than the value provided. Value of the equipment in one container typically ranges from $400,000 to $450,000. Cost to pack and ship is $20,000 per container x 5 containers = $100,000 to send equipment and supplies valued at more than $2,000,000. In other words every dollar you donate allows us to send ~$20 worth of equipment and supplies.
Despite the superior economics of the project, $100,000 is not a small amount of money to raise. This is why we are reaching out to our friends and asking for your help. Please, follow the link above and donate what you can. Every little bit helps. Even $20 will go a long way given the economics of this project.
